Kirkdales Street Party

All ready to go....
We’ve set-up, sound checked and had a bacon sandwich. All that’s left now is to have a beer, wait for the place to open and then play some music!

Is it dark in 'ere?
People start arriving so we kick off with the first set (which is always the best set to kick off with!).

Does the number 11 stop 'ere?
Look – they’re starting to arrive by the bus load now. Ok, the bus station is opposite the bar – but it’s very handy if you didn’t want to drive!

A bunch of people
These two look like they’re having a good time. I don’t know what everybody else is looking at though. Probably a bus.

Erm....
Erm. Don't know.

The Barmaids
And these are the fantastic Kirkdales Barmaids. By the end of the day Stuart had all of their phone numbers. Well, he thought he did, but they turned out to be 6 taxi firms and a massage parlour.

Slurp
For some reason I can’t stop dribbling when I see Stuart with his 12 string on. Very strange.

The Two Daddies
Ah, Kirkdales daddy and me. I should explain that two days before this gig my better half gave birth to our daughter, Kaleigh, at 4:30 in the morning. I hadn’t slept since then and so I tended to spend most of the day wandering around smiling at people trying to stay vertical.

Is this legal?
I’m sure there’s a copyright issue here somewhere!

Freaky man!
OK. That’s Uncle with the DJ. I really don’t know what he was drinking. Honestly.

Where's me shirt!!
The theme for the day was a ‘white T-shirt contest’. I don’t know who won but I do know the prize was crap. I bet this guy was kicking himself.

Let's PARTY!
And this is what I looked like at the end of the day. I amazed myself and everybody else that I managed to last the whole gig, but thanks to a few beers and some encouragement from Uncle I made it.

Now where's my bed.......
