Battlesbridge Bike Bash

Here are some pictures taken at the Battlesbridge Bike Bash, July ’03. Once again it was a great day, with the beer tent being even closer to us than it was last year. Fantastic. The weather was gorgeous, the beer was cold, oh and there was lots of motorbikes there and stuff. Unfortunately we didn’t really get a chance to take any pictures while we were performing, but I did have a wander around and I took some photos of things which caught my eye.

This is what Stuarts room looks like!
It’s 10:30 on a Sunday morning and we’ve got to set all this equipment up, sound check, and be ready to start in a couple of hours. So where are we? We’re at the beer tent! (in fact, we soon came back from the beer tent because it didn’t open until 11, but there you go.)

Monty the D.J.
This is Monty – he’s been doing the Bike Bash more years than we have! He’s got songs going back so far, some of them are on wax cylinder! If you can think of the song, he’s more than likely got it in his collection!

Do you like leather?
Lots of bikes, lots of people dressed in leather. Nice.

A Harley Davidson
This is a picture of a nice, er, Harley Davidson bike. It’s silver and probably goes quite fast.

A Motorbike
This is a picture of a nice, er, damn – I can’t see what make it is. OK, I know nothing about bikes but this one looked nice so I took a picture of it. Happy now!
Mind you, just after I took this photo, that girl hot-wired it and sped off into the distance on it. Honest!

Stuarts House
Now THAT is what you call a Bouncy castle. (and no, Stuart wasn’t allowed on it).

Snigger
There’s just something about this picture that makes me feel uneasy. What is that bloke doing in there? What qualifications do you need to work in a ‘Helmet Park’? And what exactly IS a Helmet Park?

It's all over
It’s all over for another year. The bikes have gone, the people have gone, but luckily they left all of the patio furniture!

Uncle's reward!
As a special treat we let Uncle go around and drink all the leftovers at the end of the day. Any he can’t manage we put into old petrol cans and keep for our rehearsals.

White Horse Beer Festival

Erm, OK. These pictures could have been taken anywhere. Again, none of us playing (or even holding musical instruments!), but we were there – honest! Trouble was it was a fantastically hot day, we were surrounded by beer, and to be honest taking photo’s was the last thing on our minds!

Mmmm
Whilst waiting at the outside bar to be served, Richard was suddenly overcome by the urge to go to the toilet. That bin had to be incinerated 5 minutes after this photo was taken.

Nobody noticed
I look kinda smug in this picture – expertly putting away a microphone stand, but in reality the other end has just sprung up and hit me in the knackers. Ouch.

What do you mean we're playing today?
When we arrived on the Sunday we found out that they had run out of Real Ale the day before. Uncle stayed very quiet at this point.

Hey!
I insisted Stuart took his medallion off before I took this picture.
